AgentFi Will Replace Financial Analysts by 2030 | Bullish or Bullshit Show
Only ~1% of crypto holders use DeFi. Not because they don't want to, but because it's terrifying. Dariia Porechna thinks AI agents are the fix. Here's her full breakdown on Decentralized Voices.
Dariia Porechna - cryptographer, ex-Wolfram Research, co-founder of EternaX Labs, is Daria’s recent guest for the Bullish or Bullshit show.
10 statements. No water. Just hot takes on the current state and future of AgentFi.
DeFi has a user problem, not a liquidity problem
~1% of crypto holders touch DeFi. Not because they don’t care, but it’s terrifying.
Porechna’s answer: stop making humans do the work. Give them intent (”I want risk-free return,” “grow this $100”), let AI agents handle the rest.
On some chains, 80% of transactions are already bots anyway. Agents don’t need better UX. They need guardrails, predictable gas, and autonomy, not a signature popup every 30 seconds.
Startup culture
Crypto outgrew duct-taped smart contracts. Regulation, audits, and real users. That’s why AI is the easier playground for lazy launches right now.
Building in public? Very bullish. Personal brand is your moat. Nobody can out-you you.
Distribution before product? Bullish. She’s seen too many teams with insane tech burn millions while spending nothing on getting noticed. If you launch a perfect product, you launch too late.
Airdrops as GTM? Bullish, with a retention asterisk. Getting tokens into people’s hands is distribution. Keeping those people is a product. Hyperliquid nailed both. Most nail one.
Solo founder + AI vs 10-person team? Very bullish! Her own dilemma: if she’s prompting an engineer who then prompts Claude Code… why not skip the middleman? Only engineers worth hiring go deeper than she can. Everyone else is an AI wrapper.
AI agent infrastructure
90% AI-generated codebase? Bullshit, but for now. Dariia thinks 80/20. Scripts, dashboards, analytics, let AI rip. The core 20%, protocol code, infra touching real money, must be written by a human. 90/10 is wishful thinking.
KYC for agents? Reluctantly bullish. Regulation wants it. But she made a distinction worth noting: external agents plugging into a chain need identity checks. On-chain agents that live as smart contracts with visible bytecode? You already verified the human at the deposit. “Know Your Agent” frameworks are coming. How they look depends on the architecture.
Prediction markets as the agent belief layer? 100% bullish. This is where EternaX is building. LLMs need a real-time signal. News is slow, X is noise, but prediction markets and live prices are high-frequency and actually reliable. MIT and LSE research shows diverse LLM crowds (Llama + Claude + GPT + Qwen, not the same model copy-pasted ten times) match human-crowd accuracy with just 20 agents. That opens the door to five-minute and one-minute prediction markets.
Agent-native L1 vs. existing chains? Bullish. Building on someone else’s L1 is technical debt from day one. Cosmos SDK, Polkadot SDK, open-source tooling - app-chains aren’t hard anymore. “But liquidity fragmentation!” Bridging is two clicks in MetaMask. When Ethereum gas hit $300 on October 10th, L2s cascaded into liquidations. Hyperliquid, running its own chain, didn’t flinch. More app-chains coming. Fewer generalist L1s.
Agents managing most financial decisions by 2030? Bullish 100%. There’s a guy at a bank staring at charts, deciding where your money goes. You trust him over an LLM trained on everything humans have ever written? For normal-sized money, this shift is inevitable. The era of analysts whose edge is “this looks promising” is done, unless you’re Buffett.
Dariia’s 2026 calls
❤️🔥 Bullish: Starting a startup. AI makes founders feel invincible. Two-person billion-dollar companies are on the way. Code is going from craft to factory line.
💩Bullshit: Altcoin season. Not coming, and maybe never again. No rising tide lifts all boats. A dozen winners, tops. Dariia hopes she’s wrong.
